Here’s what we’ve worked on over the last few weeks. The big one is Web Forms: build a form, share the link, and turn every response into a finished document. See our previous announcements here.
Web Forms
Build forms in ActiveMerge Create a form from Web Forms in the sidebar, add questions, publish it, and share the link. There are twelve question types, including dropdowns, checkboxes, dates and a drawn signature.
You can split a form into pages and show a question only when earlier answers match. Your changes save as you go, and respondents keep seeing the published version until you publish again. Learn how.
Fill a template with every response
Connect a form to one of your Word, PowerPoint or Excel templates and choose which question fills which placeholder.
Auto-match by name does most of it for you. Each response then produces a finished document, as the original file type or as a PDF, emailed to you and, if you like, to the person who filled in the form. Learn how
Start a form from a template
Already have a template? Pick it and ActiveMerge builds the form for you, one question per placeholder, already connected.
Your logo and colours
Add your logo, choose an accent colour and a page background. Button text adjusts itself so it stays readable on any colour. Learn how
Formatted section text
Heading blocks now have a small text editor for bold, italic, links and lists, so instructions and terms read properly.
Responses in one place
See every response, search and filter them, export to CSV, download the answers as a PDF and the generated document, and retry any step that didn’t go through. Each plan includes a monthly number of responses, and responses don’t use credits.
E-Signatures
Send one PDF to many people
Upload a PDF and a spreadsheet of signers, place the signing fields once, and everyone on the list gets their own envelope. You can have up to 5 signers per envelope and up to 500 rows. Learn how
Use any column in your signer file
Job title, company, employee ID, start date: any column in your signer file can fill fields in the document for each person. If someone’s row is missing a value, they type it in themselves instead of their envelope being held up.
Fewer emails for big batches
Turn off Email me about this batch and you won’t get an email for every envelope. You can sign your own copies from the batch page instead.
Each batch is one row
The Signatures page now shows a bulk batch as a single row with its progress, instead of hundreds of separate requests. Open it to see every envelope.
Signing date fills in for everyone
A signing-date field now fills in automatically for every signer in a batch, not only the first.
Clearer errors, easier cancelling
When a request can’t be sent, you now see why, for example which signer is missing which detail. Cancelling works for every request, including ones that never went out.
Cloud Destinations
Save documents to Dropbox and OneDrive
Connect an account on the Destinations page, pick a folder, and set it as your default. Every document and certificate job you run is then saved there automatically. Learn how
Folder picker and one-click connect
Browse your folders instead of typing a path, and connect or disconnect Dropbox right from the Destinations page.
Other Updates
More reliable email delivery
Signing invitations and notifications now switch to a backup email provider automatically if the main one has a problem.
Smaller bug fixes
Plus a handful of smaller fixes and improvements under the hood.
