Cloud Destinations

Save generated documents to Dropbox, OneDrive.

Destinations send the documents you generate straight to a folder in your cloud storage. Connect an account, pick a folder, set it as your default, and every document and certificate job you run from then on is copied there when it finishes. You don’t need to download anything and upload it again.

Go to Destinations in the sidebar. You’ll see each storage service your account can use.

Connect an account

  1. Click Connect Dropbox (or OneDrive).
  2. Sign in to that service if asked, and allow ActiveMerge access.
  3. You’re brought back to Destinations, which now shows the account as Connected as your email.

If you cancel at the sign-in screen, you’re brought back without anything changing.

Choose the folder

Under the connected account:

  1. Click Browse next to Folder path (Dropbox) or Folder ID (the others).
  2. In the folder picker, click a folder to open it and ← Up to go back. When you’re inside the folder you want, click Use this folder. To save to the top level of your storage, click Use this folder straight away.
  3. Folder name is filled in for you. It’s only a label to help you recognise it.
  4. Tick Use as default to use this destination for your generation jobs.
  5. Click Save.

You can type a Dropbox path such as /Clients/Invoices instead of browsing.

What gets saved, and where you see it

With a default destination set, each document or certificate job you start copies its finished files to that folder when it completes. Every document is saved as its own file, even when you download the job as a ZIP.

The job’s completion page shows Cloud destination with the service name and the result for each file. If a file couldn’t be saved, for example because the account was disconnected, the reason is shown there and the document is still available to download as usual.

The destination is fixed when a job starts, so changing your default doesn’t move files from jobs already running.

Web Form documents aren’t sent to destinations yet. You get them by email and on the form’s Responses tab.

Disconnect

Click Disconnect next to the account and confirm. Jobs stop being saved there, and the destination is removed.

Dropbox is shared. The same Dropbox connection is used by your automations and by document generation. Disconnecting it on Destinations disconnects it everywhere, and ActiveMerge asks you to confirm first.

Troubleshooting

What you see What to do
“Dropbox has not given ActiveMerge permission to read your folders” Your Dropbox connection is older than a permission ActiveMerge now needs. Click Disconnect, then Connect Dropbox again and allow access.
“That folder doesn’t exist in Dropbox any more” The saved folder was moved or deleted. Clear the folder path and click Browse again.
“Could not connect OneDrive” (or another service) Try connecting again. If it keeps happening, contact support. We can see the reason the service gave.
“Connection was cancelled or expired” The sign-in took more than 10 minutes or was cancelled. Click Connect again.
